Reeling In The Years

As we know Reeling in the years is a TV show that allows us to look back on the hardships of yesteryear.

Insightfully showing us the ‘rare auld times’ that were the sixties to early nineties and allowing us the luxury of looking back on them times without having to set foot in them again.

Mother would remind me of how hard life was back then by telling me ‘you don’t know how lucky you are growing up in the 90′s.

Ha ha ha, looks like i got out just in time, cheers Brian

But in 2010 the hardships of years past has caught up on us once again. The dole line is lengthening once again and emigration is the only prospect for the youth of this nation once more.

Economic Blight isn’t the only thing that has caught up with us; Reeling in the

years has also. Now the tables have turned as the viewer sits down to look back over those prosperous years that were the Celtic Tiger and reflect on how good we had it and wonder where did it all go wrong.

We can only hope that in ten years time when we are watching the show in 2021 that we are in a more comfortable position and can breath a sigh of relief thinking ‘ thank god were out of that mess, who would have thought Gerry Adams could turn this country around all by himself’.

Well we can live and hope.
