I’m a mature student here in Ballyfermot in my second year of a Higher National Diploma in Media. I applied for this course shortly after the beginning of the economic downturn in this country, a decision I am delighted to have made as I have not looked back since. I’ve always been interested in Media and the mechanics of its operations. My ideal job within the media would definitely be behind the scenes structuring television shows rather than in front of the camera. I would love to get into script writing on a full time basis as I feel this is where I could apply myself in the best manner. The skills I have learned since coming to Ballyfermot have helped me immensely. Now I understand how to operate within the industry in a more articulate manner. Hopefully after this year I can go on to do the degree course right here in Ballyfermot and after that who knows what opportunities await me. But whatever comes my way I will savour and get the best of any opportunity that comes my way.
